When the second gear shaft nut starts to back off, it slowly cuts into the inside of this part and will eventually do one of two things. It may cut a perfect hole in the end cover, or it may forcefully shatter the rear cover.
In the case of the former, we can repair that for you on an exchange basis as seen on this page. In a case of the latter, contact us, as we may have a good used one as new ones are no longer available at present except as part of a complete manual transmission.
